· In this paper, several studies describing the processing of iron ores via direct and reverse cationic and anionic flotation are reviewed. The objective of this review was to present and identify the effects of different flotation conditions on removal of specific impurities in iron ore such as quartz, alumina, phosphorous, and sulfur.
The flotation process involves crushing the ore to liberate separate grains of the various valuable minerals and gangue components, pulping the ore particles with water, and then selectively rendering hydrophobic the surface of the mineral of interest.
The dataset of the flotation tailing froth features is applied to train the network for predicting the amount of sulfur removal from iron ore concentrate in the column flotation process. In this study, 74 of 99 (75%) items in the dataset were used in training and the rest 25 (25%) in the test and validation of the network.

· The annual processing capacity of iron ore reaches 22 million tons, and the wastewater from mineral processing is about 400 thousand m 3 every day. If the dressing wastewater is directly discharged into the nature, it will not only pollute the surrounding environment but also has a great potential safety risk.
